3D Printing

FDM 3D Printing Projects

I contributed to a friend's (@Willy) omnicopter drone project by 3D printing two critical components: the core structure and the corner pieces. These parts were printed using PETG-CF, a material with high strength and excellent temperature resistance well-suited for drone applications. One of the main challenges was the minimal contact area between the parts and the print bed, which required careful print setup. This print strategy was intentional, as it maximised part strength while keeping the overall weight as low as possible.

Another project I worked on was a shape toolkit, developed as part of a group assignment, printed using PLA. Achieving the right tolerance was critical, as each shape needed to fit into its corresponding slot with a precise, snug fit.
